RIO DE JANEIRO, October 17. /TASS/. Over 50% of Brazilian nationals would agree to get a shot of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, a poll published by CNN Brazil on Friday informs.
According to the poll, 53% of those who took part in the poll trust the vaccine created by Russian pharmacists, while 38% are not ready to get vaccinated with the Russian drug. Meanwhile, 9% were undecided.
As for the Chinese vaccine, 48% are ready to use it, while 46% are of the opposite opinion. The vaccine developed by Oxford University, along with the drugs developed by the US and Germany, are the most popular among Brazilians, with 68% of respondents ready to get the vaccine developed by them, 22% unwilling to get vaccinated, and 10% undecided.
The poll was held by Realtime Big Data company, with 1,000 people taking part in the phone survey held on October 13-14. The margin of error does not surpass 3 percentage points.
So far, Brazil has approved clinical trials of four COVID-19 vaccines developed by China's Sinovac Biotech, UK-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, US company Pfizer, and Janssen-Cilag, a pharmaceutical company owned by Johnson & Johnson. The request to hold the third stage of clinical trials of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine is currently at the preparation stage.
