Ozon 1H revenue up 73% to $2.02 bln

MOSCOW, August 23. /TASS/. Revenue of Russian retailer Ozon in the first half of 2022 increased by 73% to 122 bln rubles ($2.02 bln), while losses rose by 19% to 26.2 bln rubles ($435.26 mln), the company said in a statement.

Turnover increased by 113% and amounted to 348 bln rubles ($5.71 bln).

The company's adjusted EBITDA amounted to 0.2 bln rubles ($3.32 mln) in Q2 compared to -9.1 bln rubles ($151.17 mln) in Q2 2021 - the figure was achieved thanks to business scaling and optimizing operating costs, Ozon said.

Revenue in the Q2 increased by 58% year-on-year to 58.5 bln rubles ($971.79 mln) mainly due to revenue from services. At the same time, losses halved to 7.2 bln rubles ($119.6 mln).

Ozon also retained the forecast of turnover growth by at least 80% in 2022. "We continue working on improvements of economic parameters and at the same time maintain our turnover growth forecast of at least 80% this year," CFO Igor Gerasimov was quoted in the company's press release.

Ozon is a leading multi-category e-commerce platform and one of the largest internet companies in Russia.
