ST. PETERSBURG, June 5. /TASS/. Russian company 3mx has developed the Pyotr tactical headset specifically for military personnel, with the device featuring a secure communications network and the ability to amplify the sounds of threats, such as drone engines, 3mx Development Director Sergey Shandobylo told TASS.

"These headphones are watertight; all their circuit boards are protected from moisture. We have put in an intercom (local audio communication system -- TASS), a system that allows for communication between groups without the use of radios. We have successfully created an intercom with a range of up to 30 meters, and up to 200 meters under ideal conditions.

Unlike other similar devices worldwide, ours uses encryption, allowing for more secure missions without leaking information to the enemy," the company's development director said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

He added that another difference between the Pyotr headphones and its competitors is that the latter muffle all sounds, including UAV engine noise, while the Pyotr headphones actually amplify it. "Our headphones amplify it, allowing the user to react more quickly to a threat. The sound of a broken branch, rubble, rustling grass--our headphones record all of this and alert the user. Special forces personnel are testing our headphones, including in combat conditions and at firing ranges," Shandobylo said.

According to him, the headphones are configured via a special mobile app. "As with our other products, we have an update system--the situation at the front is dynamically changing, and we respond to these changes with targeted adjustments," the 3mx development director added.
