MOSCOW, February 3 (WNM/TASS) – Russian CosmoCourse company, which specializes on space tourism, plans to conduct engine test for its domestically developed spacecraft in Moscow Region this autumn, the company’s CEO Pavel Pushkin tweeted.

Earlier in December, Pushkin disclosed that the company conducts negotiations on the testing location.

“The most important thing, of course, is the test of the 3.5-ton thrust engine, scheduled for this autumn. We currently make engine parts that will be tested independently. We also make specimen for testing material durability at various temperatures. We will conduct fire testing in the Moscow region,” Pushkin disclosed Monday.

According to the CEO, the company will begin assembling the ignition system stand.

“The ignition system is developed. Some of its components have been produced and independently tested already. The last components have been sent for production scheduling to the subcontractors. We have to test the ignition this March or April (April is more likely),” the CEO tweeted.

Pushkin also noted that piping connections would be tested for tightness at normal and cryogenic temperatures.

“Connections are already in production,” Pushkin tweeted.

CosmoCourse is developing a reusable spacecraft for suborbital tourist flights. The spacecraft is expected to climb 200 km above Earth for a 15-minute flight. Since the international space border is located at 100 km above Earth, that would make the passengers officially spacemen. The company intends to build its own spaceport for launches in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
