LUCKNOW, India, February 6 (WNM/TASS) - Russia has delivered military products worth $70 billion to India since 1991, Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov said.
“India is one of the main buyers of Russian-made military products. Over the past three years [2017-2019], the portfolio of orders exceeded $15 billion. If we talk about the volume of products contracted since the beginning of 1991, it has amounted to about $70 billion,” Drozhzhov said.
The press office of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation specified that the book of Indian orders for Russian military hardware had reached $15.2 billion.
“During the mentioned period significant contracts for the delivery of the S-400 Triumf air defense missile system and the construction of Project 11356 frigates in Russia and India were concluded. A contract was signed to increase licensed production of T-90S tanks by 409 pieces,” the press office said.
“A number of contracts for the delivery of big batches of missiles and munitions designed for military aircraft and Army military hardware were signed,” the press office added.
